The Evers House
1035 W. Oak

The Evers house at 1035 W. Oak is one of the several landmarks that Dentonites should be anxious to preserve. The home was designed by an Austin architect and built in 1903 in the popular Colonial Revival style. Both classical influences and Victorian flourishes are featured in this eclectic, 12-room home, whose lumber was purchased for $800. When built, the third-floor attic included a gymnasium for the seven Evers children.
